My Most Favourite/Interesting Term

I found the author, Meindert Dejong, the most interesting term as I didn’t know of him and he was a very famous author during 20th century who wrote fiction book for kids.

What can you say for non-fictional elements in The House of 60 Fathers?

One of the main non-fictional elements was how they described Hengyang. Below is a map of Hengyang:
As you can see, Hengyang is definitely a river city as there is a huge river that flows through the city. Meindert Dejong did a very good job describing Hengyang as he described Hengyang and its surrounding very well.

Across the river is a small forest where Tien Pao took his River God to in the story and there is a forest across the river.

The author also used mentioned about the mountains nearby where Tien Pao spent weeks. It is real though it is not shown on the map.

COMMENT ON DE JONG'S CHOICES OF CHARACTERS, SETTING & PLOT IN TH60F.

I think Dejong used Hengyang as the main place because it is a place where lots of destruction happened and it was a river town.
